One didn’t have to guess what awaited sentencing in this case. If you know the history of this country’s miscarriage of justice, no one had to tell you what the outcome was going to be today. The proof is in the sentencing I said, regardless of the verdict. I remember cautioning the celebrations at the judgment for fear of what was coming.

You’ve all seen it. The facts were laid out for the world to see but had the table turned it would be guaranteed life sentence. Where do we go from here you may want to ask? Nowhere if I may be honest not to say the same place we’d gone to for Rodney King, Trayvon Martin, Orlando Castile, and all the others. Frankly, I’m tired, and I know you are too. It happens so many times that we have grown to accept it. We have taken it lying down because at the end of the day nothing is going to change; Nothing, nada, zilch.
